How it works
Explore domain names

Find the name
before someone else does!

Build a name pattern, choose the domain extensions you care about, and let EDNAME explore the possible combinations.

1

Choose name length

From 1 to 15 letters.
2

Build your name pattern

Put fixed letters exactly where you want them. Leave positions you want EDNAME to explore empty.
You do not have to enter letters from left to right. Choose any positions you want. The requirement is only the minimum. You may enter more letters or complete the entire name.
3

Choose domain extensions

Choose one extension from the live catalog (filter by its original TLD spelling), enter a custom set, search all open extensions, all classified extensions, or geographic extensions only. EDNAME uses single-level extensions only.

FAQ

How to search with EDNAME

Do I have to enter the required letters from left to right?
No. You decide exactly where each fixed letter appears. Empty positions may be at the beginning, in the middle, or at the end.
__CHECK CHECK__ C_EC_K
Each underscore represents a position EDNAME can replace with A–Z.
What is a good search strategy?
Start with a word, abbreviation, or fragment that matters to you. Then leave a small number of positions empty.
__CHECK CHECK__ CHECK___
This is usually much faster and produces more useful results than leaving many unrelated positions empty.
Can I enter more than the minimum?
Yes. The displayed requirement is only the minimum. You may fill additional positions or complete the entire word. If every field is filled, EDNAME checks exactly one name against the selected domain extensions.
What do I pay for?
The search itself and the information about how many available domains were found are free. You pay only if you want to download the TXT file containing the actual domain names. Reports containing 1–50 available domains cost $2.00. Each additional available domain adds $0.01.
What are the extension search modes?
One extension searches one extension selected from the live catalog.

Custom extensions lets you enter several extensions yourself.

All open extensions searches every classified single-level extension that is generally available to ordinary registrants.

All extensions + requirements searches every classified single-level extension, including those with residency, professional, institutional or other eligibility requirements.

All regional extensions searches country-code extensions plus supported city, region and cultural extensions.

EDNAME intentionally excludes multi-level provider entries such as .com.pl or .co.uk. Only one-part extensions after the domain name are used.

The estimate may change as the search progresses because some domains require additional RDAP and final provider verification.
